Articles in irish publications reporting on the FilmFest & St Kilians achievements. e.g. irish emigrant online, Tipperary star, Clare champion, Hoganstand magazine

March 2003

Article in the Tipperary Star "Borrisoleigh man elected European GAA PRO" The club is very thankful to John Guiton § Our season started on the 16th march with our first official training session.

This was followed by an interview with Bayerische Rundfunk radio (with a potential audience of 6 million).

This was preceded by an article in Wuerzburg Sunday newspaper "Prima Sonntag" §

St Kilians meet with representatives from Bray, Co Wicklow ( Twinned with Wuerzburg) to discuss exhibition game later in the summer and the planning of an Irish festival in Wuerzburg.

April 2003

We have been training twice weekly and the numbers of players has risen from 6 last year to 14 this year. Special welcome to new members Lyndon lyons, Micheal Hurst, Ulf Fortagne and Clemens Grünewald . In recent weeks 4 more Irish players have joined us- Aubrey Dolan, former captain of Sligo Rovers F.C., Micheal Hackett (Dublin) and Sean Nyhan (Cork) . We welcome the return of club member Niall Twomey ( Cork) from the Gulf War. Great to have you back!

Club secretary Aimee Waha has been busy organising that a major Irish language writer participates in a minority language weekend in Würzburg. It takes place in Oct 2003. This event should be very exciting and enjoyable, with other minority European languages also being represented.

May 2003

Club member Micheal Hackett organises successful "Bodhrán" workshop in Wuerzburg. §

Gaelsport Ulster will be carrying article about the club this month. §

St. Kilians will be sending a team to the luxembourg tournament at the end of the month

June 2003

§ After bringing Shane MacGowan over for the Wuerzburg film festival we feel we can only top this be bringing a well-known inter county hurler to Wuerzburg over the summer and the possibility of a current Irish soccer international!
